Source standards
We prefer official statements and records, followed by major news organizations such as the Associated Press, Reuters and established local broadcasters. Aggregators, SEO profiles and people-search services are not used as the sole source for personal facts.
Fact verification
A link is not proof by itself. A source must directly support the wording of the statement it accompanies. Police descriptions, allegations and unresolved conclusions are attributed to the authority or publication that made them.
Developing information
Early reports can change. Pages display an updated date only when a meaningful editorial change has been made. Unresolved details are described as unknown rather than filled with inference.
Corrections
If reliable information contradicts a published statement, the page will be corrected and its updated date changed. A note will be added when a correction materially changes the reader's understanding. Corrections can be sent toeditor@erinpiacenti.net.
Privacy and sensitive information
The site does not publish precise home addresses, private contact details, unsupported family information, medical claims, wealth estimates or relationship speculation. Public availability alone does not make a detail relevant.
Images and copyrighted material
The site does not republish news or social-media photographs without an appropriate license. It summarizes facts in original language and does not reproduce substantial portions of source articles.
AI assistance
AI-assisted tools may be used for research organization, drafting and editing. Factual claims are checked against the sources displayed on the relevant page before publication. AI output is not treated as a factual source.
